A Party for Max!

We had a party yesterday to celebrate Maxwell's second birthday!

Maxwell Everett
May 21, 2009
9 lbs. 6 oz. 21"

He was a little overwhelmed by all the presents, but did a good job attempting to open most of them!

The kid loves sports. Especially sports involving a ball. He received many new balls to add to his collection!

He was very cute all day long.

Here I am trying to convince him that birthday candles aren't scary!

But he still isn't so sure!

But without the candles he was all about the cupcakes!

Aaron had the idea to do cupcakes decorated like sports balls. It was incredibly easy and turned out adorable!

Liam was very well behaved also, and was so cute helping Max with things. I love that he gets genuinely excited for his brother. They sure love eachother!
Happy Birthday, Maxwell.
We love our big two year old boy!

Funny Max

Maxwell is becoming a very empathetic little boy. Just today I put Liam in a naughty chair for hitting Max. I walked out of the room and then back in to find Max on his own chair right next to his brother! He told me he was "in a naughty chair, too."

We heard the song "Come Awake" on the Christian radio station often during Lent. The chorus goes:

Come Awake! Come Awake!
He is risen from the grave!

Liam sings it often, and Max always follows suit. Except when Max sings it the lyrics become:

Come awake! Come awake!
He is risen THUNDER GRAPE!

A Sunny Mother's Day

Two little sneakers in the backyard!

Grandma and Grandpa came over for an afternoon of gardening and a cookout!

Max helped with lawncare.

There were lots of uncles and grandparents around to play with!

Uncles are always up for some fun!

It was a great afternoon with my boys and family.

Wonder

Liam: "Mom, I wonder."
Mom: "What do you wonder?"
Liam: "Nothing. I just...wonder."

I love that the world is so full of wonder for him. Today he helped a small toad and a ladybug to safety while Max tried to kill them both and I did yardwork. He has such a sweet soul.

Cake Wreck

My sisters and I are fans of the blog Cakewrecks and try to find our own examples as often as possible.
We found a cake for Kimberly one year that read "HAPPY BITHDAY!" That was a keeper. I happened upon this little beauty for Easter this year:

Yes, I paid money for this cake. But, you can't put a price on a deformed rabbit cake. You just can't.

More Easter

Here is a huge photo post for all my fan(s) who have been waiting (some patiently...) for a new post!

The family on Easter Sunday.

Our family, and our goofy boys.

With Grandma and Grandpa.

Dyeing Easter eggs!

Four-wheeler riding with Grandpa Howie in the yard. Contrary to the look on Max's face he actually asked to go on the four wheeler and refused to get off...

Reading with Auntie Kimmy.

Playing with Uncle Scott!

Gifts from the "Easter Bird"!

And Max's favorite, blowing bubbles with Grandma!
